Yes it looks for key words that are part of the vocabulary and objectives of the lesson. Some of the newer editions look for length as well and not just a key word. It mimics what a teacher would do in a classroom but it cannot replace a teacher. The educator should be reviewing student work to check for quality and comprehension. A student should be advocating for themselves if they get a bad score on an activity or request a reset. Effective educators believe in continuous improvement and promoting student excellence.

Your actual answer doesnt matter at all. They just look for one specific answer.

It looks for key words in the short answer questions. I find it to be accurate about 90% of the time. The 10% it misses can be fixed by the teacher.

In my course, Geography 7, Edgenuity is looking for Key Words to appear in the answer. If the key words are present, the grade is an easy 100. If not, the grade is a 0. I suggest to my seventh grade students to be prepared to write three to five SOLID sentences for the Online Content sections.
