Scam. Fishingbooker is a rip off. Nothing but trouble. No customer service and they charge your credit card. Look out.

SCAM. The reviews on their site are edited to make all the captains sound better. Totally worthless site

Possibly a scam. They are hoping you cancel your booking so they get to keep your $100 deposit

It is not a scam. We used them most of the summer and got quite a bit of bookings. Yes, they take commission % to help book up spots that are available. But you can decide how much of a commission they get. It ranks high on google when searching for a fishing charter. As for keeping the deposit, the charter company, like ours, will keep your deposit if you cancel. So, the deposit with Fishing Booker is less than the 50% most charters take for a deposit. The charter company sets how many days you cancel before the deposit is kept. Also, if you cancel after the deposit can be refunded, it goes to the charter company, not Fishing Booker. We had a gal cancel a private charter (6) the day prior to her fishing trip due a chance of rain. There is no way we could rebook that trip in 16 hours! We got her deposit, not much of a compensation since we don't pay a high % to Fishing Booker, but it helped. Losing a $900 trip sucks. I can assure you that most fishing charters would keep your 50% deposit for pulling something like this, we do!
So no, Fishing Booker is not a scam. Read the fine print before booking a fishing trip your not sure your going to go on.

Definitely a scam. The captains seem to double book and prefer directly booked trips over the fishing booker trips where they have to pay a commission. This site ruined a planned outing for our family and had zero customer service support to remedy the situation.

Hi there! Just wanted to jump in with some more information.

FishingBooker is not a scam. It's the world's largest service for finding and booking fishing trips online and has helped people find their dream fishing trip since 2013. The company is registered in Norfolk, Virginia and operates all over the world (in 107 countries and counting).

Our aim is to help people go fishing, and we only make money when we succeed in this goal. We don't charge any additional service fees and only receive income once a trip goes ahead. If trips get cancelled, the full deposit gets returned to the customer or the captain, depending on the circumstances of the cancellation and the captain's cancellation policy.

We work hard to portray an accurate representation of the charter operators who list with us. We review their licensing information to verify that they're legitimate, and provide a platform for customers who fished with them to leave verified reviews. Our system then tracks the experience captains provide and the better their record of taking people on enjoyable fishing trips, the more visibility they'll get on our platform.

If you have any questions or feedback for us, you're welcome to contact us anytime here or on our website. We'd love to hear from you!
