I have had the same as above, different numbers, but exact scenario... I am very skeptical and all flags point to scam... the only thing was that if there were a legit company that did exactly what they say, I see the challenges they would have betting their funding. The companies providing the money don't want to pay them (if people want free money they can do the work themselves, would be the perspective) and like the guy on the phone mentioned after the grant is awarded there is no true obligation to pay... like Scott and I guess the rest of the world I could really use the money and the story seems somewhat believable, but still a little far fetched... I guess I just want to believe it. I was not aware that corporations even offered grants to individuals to pay off debt. That is the part that I find a bit far fetched. I am sure they look for write offs wherever they can, but I am sure they can find better causes than giving money to folks up to their eyeballs in debt. The more I think about the premise the more red flags come up. Not sure I am willing take the risk. It isn't even consistant... they guy told me $2500. So either it is a flat fee or it isn't.
