Can a new trader participate in the tournaments of the broker?

I suppose, yeah, new traders can easily participate in the tournaments held by the broker.
Entrance fee is in many cases miniscule, just a couple of bucks to get in and start fighting other traders to get a tasty prize. The point is that newbies rarely reach good results, just because they are unaware fo all trading peculiarities, but contest is also for training. If the fee is small, then why not to test the waters, huh?
