Freedom of expression, which has "now" been taken away. So I see no reason Tumblr is better than it's competitors.

Well, as an Artist I had a show exhibiting my work (in a very Puritan State). I had two pieces taken from the wall and turned backwards, so no one could see them. My pieces challenged thought and involved nudity. Tumblr, is now another "online" community turning pictures around so voices and messages cannot be seen or heard.

Answer:
Newgrounds, Pillowfort, Amino Apps, and Twitter are all much better than Tumblr, although Twitter is still very risky so, keep your guard up.
