Re: Millennium Management - Beachwood, Ohio. Oakwood Estates - Olmsted Twp. Ohio

If you are considering moving here….pack a very thick wallet of cash along with a lot of patience and kiss your security deposit goodbye.

My mother in law moved here many years ago and has finally moved out.

Millennium Management has raised the rent year after year after year. The first year was a $120 increase per month & every year after that has averaged $60+ per month. The rent will now increase an additional $160 per month for 2024. ($580+ rent increases over a 7 year period.)

While it is understandable that rent increases at a moderate rate….,Millennium Management raises the rent for every single little thing and or repair. Eventually, a repair or upgrade will be paid in full so there is no reason to force residents to pay for something X's 1,800%.

Management asked me why my mother in law was moving out? Aside from sky rocket rent increases and very LAZY repairman and staff….my mother in law has dealt with a 24 a day annoying running toilet for 3+ months and a non-working stove for 4+ days. (They said that a non-working stove is NOT considered an emergency repair call & it would be up to an additional 7-10 day wait for a repair.)

As of 12/26/23 we were DONE with this nonsense and notice to vacate was given to them. I turned off the water to one of the toilets and I got her a toaster oven for her remaining 1 month jail sentence so that she could have some form of hot meals.

I wanted to insure that the apartment was satisfactory to their standards and management refused to perform a walk thru after vacating the apartment. (How are we supposed to know what's wrong & fix a problem?) A gallon of white paint is $15. They also refused to issue a receipt for key returns for the apartment and their broken gate.

Millennium Management ONLY showed concern when they were told that we are not dealing with them anymore.

Lastly, smoking was permitted in her apartment. This company kept her security deposit and charged an additional $1,837 for "smoke & soot damage".

1. My mother in law smoked a few times per week with the window open, an Air Cleaner running and the bedroom door closed.

2. The "soot damage" was from their furnace that we constantly complained about and they did nothing to repair it. They said that the "soot" was from burning candles. My mother in law NEVER burned a single candle here. E.V.E.R!

What I find amazing is $1,837 for paint & labor. Who are they to determine smoke damage? What expert did they call for an opinion? I knew well in advance that this was going to happen. This is what scam artists do. They will come up with any poor excuse to get as much money out of you even when you move out.

We have (3) separate video's of the apartment from top to bottom and side to side after vacating.

They were upset that she moved out and would have to move their lazy arms & legs a little bit to do some actual work.

It's a shame that she had to move and was forced on to food stamps for her final 2 years of occupancy.

Good Bye Oakwood Estates/Millennium Management & Good Riddance!
