Campers Inn Hatfield – Buyer beware. Worst experience ever!
June 21, 2023

I must say, Service team is great. But the sales team is greedy, unfair, and unaccountable. As my new unit is being returned to the factory for a defect, sales person told me, "Campers Inn will not lose money on a factory problem". So, the buyer is the loser in both time and money in the end if they sell you a lemon.
My husband and I traded a slightly used camper for a new leftover 2022 Work and Play. Our walkthrough never included hooking up to water and turning on the faucets. We were excited to be getting ready for our first trip until we unwinterized the new / never used unit and water poured out from underneath! I was crying as I called Campers Inn about the problem. We had never even got a chance to use it. We returned it immediately for service. It turns out the problem was not easy to fix and they contacted the manufacturer. The service department was very helpful. Justin saw us immediately and thoroughly explained what he saw as the problem. However, now the manufacturer needs to do the repairs. Considering the issue is a factory problem not easily fixed and we have trips planned this season we wanted to look at another comparable unit that was on Campers Inn lot and do a trade.
We asked to talk to the sales manager but instead got our original sales person, Linda Elisio. She said, as you know, when you sign on the dotted line a new camper is considered "used" even if you never used it. Agreed, but the unit was still in brand new condition, never used and now we can't use it. She showed us a 2023, same model unit and we discussed trading ours in for it. We were told the sale price of our unit and the sale price of a 2023 unit we were considering is about the same, but the difference in our "trade value" would be greater than $10,000. We were willing to pay for the upgrade, but taking such a huge trade in loss on a camper that they know was never used and is currently unusable is just plain unfair and greedy. Linda went in the back several times to relay our offer to Ed (hiding in the back), but they prefer making a bigger profit on their bad sale instead of doing the right thing. All we wanted was a compromise to satisfy the problem and leave with a unit we could actually use this season, but greedy it is. The sales manager never came out of hiding in the back to talk with us face to face. They will not do what is right to achieve the desired key result. Nor will they be fair or accountable. So much for core values.
I am frustrated and admittedly very angry that I spent a lot of money and have nothing to enjoy for it. I offered what I thought was a fair solution. They would not lose money and I would leave satisfied. Now I wait for the manufacturer to contact me while I cancel my camping trips.
