I started a premium trial the other day and I found myself wanting to e-mail Crunchyroll to ask them for more titles in certain genres, as they didn't have much of a selection. It's been years since I was last a paid member and they didn't have many new titles in the genres I like (which was quite surprising). So, I went to the Help/FAQ link at the bottom of the page. It went to a new support site with a bunch of questions and answers, and one on how to contact support directly. So, I clicked the link to contact support directly. It just reloaded the page I was on. Seriously. It did nothing but that. I tried this in two different web browsers, and even disabled my addons to be sure. Still, it was basically nonfunctional. It's lucky I was a paid subscriber in the past because I dug through my past e-mails and found a support e-mail from them, so I e-mailed that address, telling them about the issue. I got a very useless e-mail back from them about a day later, telling me that most people feel very positive about the new changes they've made (I don't know how they'd tell, if other people are having the same issue I'm having). The customer service rep didn't even ask me for browser details or anything, to try to troubleshoot the issue with their support website! It's like he didn't care! I was appalled. Who knows how many other people can't get through to support and it doesn't seem like it even matters to them. He did ask me for the titles/genres I'd like to see more from, but I wrote him back an e-mail telling him not to bother. If they don't even care that their support site doesn't work, I'm not going to be paying them every month for a subscription. I don't want to be caught up with apathetic customer service if something goes wrong with my billing. To all those wondering how to get through to them, the address I sent an e-mail to was: *******@crunchyroll.com and I got one back from them at *******@crunchyroll.zendesk.com. I didn't find this on their website anywhere, so I don't know how long they'll answer these. I just wanted to mention them just in case they continued to work and could help someone else. P.S. - The site says otherwise, but when you cancel your free trial membership, it's effective immediately. UPDATE: I contacted Zendesk and they verified the issue with the 'contact us' link on the Crunchyroll support site, however their own policies kept them from passing on that issue to someone in Crunchyroll. (Bravo...)
Make sure you can succeed in contacting support *before* you need it! I tried their "support" website using several different web browsers, addons disabled, and it didn't work. You don't want to be without any way to contact them if something goes wrong!
