Had a siding repair job five months ago -- HA sent out a young kid with no ladder even though the repair job was for the second story. The young kid left and an older man with a 40 foot ladder showed up and completed the job. I was not charged for the young kid -- but that kid was out of pocket for his time and gas.
The warranty period of 3 months had elapsed, and we needed another fix in the same place, so I went back into HA on the website and began the request for the same provider as last time. My credit card had expired so I attempted to correct it, could not get it to work on the site so called HA. The women I talked with was very nice and updated my credit card, then offered to input my order -- I thought great! So we went through the same list of questions, including whether a ladder was or was not needed, and how tall a ladder. I explained, also, that I wanted the same provider as I'd had previously.
Today, the doorbell rings and some young guy is there to fix the siding - not the provided I requested. So after the initial confusion, I figured that is fine... we walk to the back, and the young guy says, oh - the work request says no ladder needed b/c you are providing the ladder. So this provider, who drove an hour to get here, needs to come back on Saturday with his truck and ladder.
So I call HA using the number on their contact us -- someone from who knows where answers and simply says that the Work Order says no ladders -- completely not listening to me and offering to cancel the order even though I told them I just want the ordering department made aware of the issue to avoid this in the future. I give up on that, then go to chat -- exactly the same response on chat except they offer to cancel the job (thus denying the provider the chance to make $$ even though this issue was HA's). So chat gives me the customer service phone number and email (which I was not able to see on HA's website), so I call the number... same thing except this person from India insists the Work Order says 'no ladder' (ya thnk?) and that she will get a new provider for me. I ask her to do exactly nothing -- why should the provider lose the job b/c of HA's inability to take a simple order.
I have marked my calendar to cancel HA -- they are sooo not worth it... i will get recommendations from Next Door for my repair needs.
