I read mse's mobile phone sim recommendations and decided to go with ID MOBILE as a "MSE TOP PIC" as it appeared to tick all my boxes.
After an hour and a half I thought that I'd got the sim sorted however when asked to supply security questions regarding PAC the site wouldn't let me progress. " issue with some information provided" was the message. One of the questions asked was " what's the id mobile number? Well seeing as they did not give it to me for another 2 hours I couldn't tell them. The rest of the information was definitely correct as I've had this name and date of birth for 64 years so I know they are correct. I was very disheartened by the service even though MSE rated ID as one of their top pics. So this morning I tried to contact ID through all sort of ways. The auto bot is a waste of time as it keeps asking the same questions, the live chat doesn't start till 9am ( oh for a job that starts at 9 am) and when I asked for some one to call me, I received the most ridiculous answer" we don't have telephony facility". Like an airline saying they don't have any planes. Two hours later I got a vague response ( after having been cut off) that they would like to give me £10 off my next bill as compensation. I hadn't even been connected to their system this morning and already they admit faults. So! My point here is that MSE needs to try ( disguised as an ordinary punter) to move from a service provider to ID MOBILE and at the same time attempt to port their number, then give a recommendation. Just telling us that ID is a good deal based on price and package does not make it a good deal. The whole offer needs to work well. The switch over needs to be smooth, the porting needs to be slick and most of all there needs to be a real person on the end of a phone if there's a problem. Come on MSE, get the finger out. If you're going to give something " top pics" then do you're research, alternatively give me a ring and I'll do the job for you. ( providing you have a " telephony facility).
Incidentally, I received a phone call this morning from my present provider who I've been with for thirty years. They want to offer me 1/2 price invoicing for the next 6 months on all three of my numbers. I'm waiting for the finale details of the deal and then might actually stay with them. I wonder if this call was as a result of the PAC request I made last night.
My review is about MONEY SAVING EXPERT, not the mobile phone company.
