I was searching for my 1st shotgun and wanting to try trap shooting, I went to the big gun shops here in Brisbane and was shocked at the lack of knowledge by many staff who would say this is a good gun buy this! I also had a few remarks such as, why would you bother doing trap, it's boring! This was from a couple of staff members in the shops! I had tried most of them with no luck as most don't have the guns in stock and would have to order them in! I was interested in the Miroku mk10 G5, I was told, don't waste ur time buy a Beretta or Browning etc: which are both good guns, no one had any Miroku's in stock and if I wanted to see one I would have to pay for the shipping of the gun to the store!, then if I didn't want it or like it would have to pay for the return freight to where it came from! To be quite frank and blunt not one of the main dealers seemed to take any real interest in helping me or seem passionate about what they did, if they found out I wasn't going to buy a gun that day I was fobbed off! I was at the Brisbane gun club talking o a few of the guys about my experiences when one of them told me about Guns and Ammo in Jimboomba, it's a new shop just opened up by a guy who wanted to give people the best experience and advice as he is a keen trap shooter and actually knows what he is talking about! I went in a told him my plans regarding shooting trap, my budget and make, to my surprise he said he had quite a few different models and gave me on to try for size! He was the first person in any shop who actually did more than push a gun on me, he showed me different guns to see what fitted my shoulder and which didn't, he and his wife were very friendly and kind, nothing was a problem and he gave good advice, I ended up with the Miroku I had been interested in and I would highly recommend anyone travelling any distance to get the good experience I received from Gavin and his wife! I will be going there and no where else, it was well worth the traveling time and he was more than happy to answer any questions, he was funny and a bit cheeky lol, I like that and was easy to talk to, do yourself a favour, give him a try!, tell him Stuart sent you ok lol good luck!
