Never buy Quicken. I've been using it since 2004 and they don't know how to interface older with newer versions. I've lost 6 mos. Of data, because they're unable to open the back up file which when backed up posted "backed up successfully". I'm escalating my case with the attorney general in NY state, because their support team stinks they keep repeating what doesn't work and have wasted 12 hrs. Of my time. By the way they're not very sophisticated and don't keep up with the latest technology, so they're at a loss if you're using anything other than Windows XP.

Don't waste your money
August 16, 2020

I just spent the morning fighting with the Quicken program. I'm changing over to Quickbooks, a much better program and still has the disk form available. I'm not renewing my monthly Quicken online fee. But I find I can't even change transactions in Quicken without giving the another month's fee. I understand not supporting download or services with the program, but to Shut the program down so all my financial information is frozen unless I send them money! I am so happy I got away from Quicken, Beware people, if you once pay for quicken online they will stop at nothing to keep their hooks into you.

Why is it a program which is detailed to keeping all sorts of records of my personal business, etc. cannot fix their own problem. I don't know how many reports there have been because you cannot sign into the program. It will not accept the sign in.
This is baloney. FIX IT.

After using their software for 4 years they turned off the software's ability to process a manual download forcing you to upgrade. I am currently looking for a checkbook software package that you do not have to constantly pay for. Monetize this Quicken. Don't buy their products there software communicates with their back office every time you load it. Who knows what they will monetize next.

Do not give them your credit card. Their system is not set up to handle errors. They maxed out my card when the site crashed and when I called to get the charges reversed - no one was actually available via the phone. They claim they will call back within 3 hours but they don't.

It does not even deserve one star! When are they going to hire real software people to fix this junk? I've done everything they say and nothing fixes it. I have used Quicken and Quickbooks since1992 and never had an issue until the last couple of years. Not sure what they did to make it so bad, but they need to fix it!

Garbage
July 29, 2023

It just decided to delete all my Schwab links and takes hours to reconnect through the Schwab login. Then links to the wrong Quicken accounts. I have had it with this $#*!. Mint is much better and it is free.

This review relates solely to one issue with Quicken and Citibank: the inability of Quicken to download transactions from Citibank accounts. Overall, Quicken is an excellent financial software that I have used successfully for many years. But for the past few months, Quicken lost the ability to download transactions from Citibank and it has been unable to work with Citibank to fix the issue. When I contact Quicken, they say to contact Citibank. When I contact Citibank, they say to contact Quicken. This is very frustrating for Quicken customers who have accounts at Citibank, and it negates the convenience of using Quicken software in conjunction with Citibank accounts. It appears that Quicken and Citibank have not been sufficiently motivated to find a solution to the problem which is disappointing. Quicken and Citibank have not explained to me why there is a problem. The only hint given by Quicken is that Citibank has a new authentication procedure that Quicken cannot handle. That sounds like a software design issue that, with proper motivation, should be fixable if the two businesses can work together to address it. So, Quicken and Citibank, please get on with it. Your customers are getting upset at the lack of progress.
