As someone relocating abroad, I chose Spotahome hoping for a secure and streamlined rental experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of the promise. Response Time: Unacceptably Slow Spotahome took over a month to respond to my initial inquiries, during the critical phase of moving to a foreign country. Despite multiple attempts to reach out via different channels, I received no meaningful support while moving. 📉 Lack of Protection and Transparency:
Due to the delayed move-in Spotahome had already transferred my payment to the landlord, before I had even seen the apartment or signed a contract. I had to finalize the contract and pay the remaining rent entirely on my own, with no guidance or safeguards from Spotahome. Their advertised security measures were effectively nonexistent. 📸 Misleading Listing:
While the apartment technically matched the listing, its actual condition was run-down and far below expectations. The photos had clearly been taken years before and were made to flatter the space, masking its true state. 🚪 No secure deposit:
Due to a delayed move-in, I couldn't complete the deposit photo upload, so Spotahome gave me no possibility to secure my deposit. 💬 Final Verdict:
Spotahome failed to deliver on its core promise: to make renting abroad safe and fair. The only thing they provided was a booking confirmation. My money was not safe and given to my landlord before I even signed the contract. Everything else, from contacting the landlord to securing the apartment, was left entirely to me. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone seeking reliability during an international move. Rating: 1/5 The only reason this isn't zero stars is because at the end I wasn't left homeless.

Best Place to Find a Home in Madrid

My experience has been wonderful. Last year, I found a 1BR apartment in Centro, Madrid on the site and really enjoyed my stay there for 45 days from 1/3/25 to 15/4/25. The information the site provided from the photos, map to video made it very easy for me to make a decision. I have checked other websites this time again for my 2026 trip to return to Madrid and I just found one. Thanks to the spotahome team!

Good but with blind eys

II really like the concert as it makes finding accommodation very easy. And that you can always be in contact with the staff who support you at all times. However, what I personally find very difficult is that most flats are booked very blindly. Without really getting to know the landlord beforehand and being able to talk to them once. This is only possible once the first booking has been made and, to put it bluntly, there is no way out of the contract. Even if you want to book a room in a shared flat, there is no way to get information about the flatmates beforehand. Only when the contract is finalised. This made my search much more difficult and affected my decision a lot.

I rented an apartment through this platform. In the listing, it was clearly stated that there was no deposit required. However, when I contacted the landlord, they requested a deposit. I had no problem with paying a deposit, but I wanted to do it with Spotahome's involvement and make use of the service I paid for, since ensuring this process is one of their main responsibilities. I repeatedly filled out complaint forms on their website, called their phone numbers, and sent emails. They never reply.
After renting the apartment and paying them their service fee, it becomes almost impossible to get in touch with them. On top of that, they charge you between €300 and €500 and provide absolutely no support or service in return. I personally did not face an issue with the apartment itself, but if I had, there would have been no one to contact.
I absolutely do not recommend this platform.

I used Spotahome when I moved to Berlin for my master's, and honestly, it was a lifesaver. At first, I had booked a place for 3 months, but the landlord ended up cancelling last minute. I was super stressed, but Trini agent really helped me out — they were quick to respond and guided me through finding another flat without too much hassle. In the end, I got a nice place and everything went smoothly.

Great experience overall

I rented several months using Spotahome for it and yhe experiencie was great, listings, UI quality and simplicity. Having more powerful budget filters would be excellent. Some landlords request a fee, others not, when searching for accommodation for months I have a fixed budget and I only care about the final costs of the period, not just the original price per month and I need to review each home one by one, compute the budget and then choose, it is possible to make the user waste less time in that scenario.

I was looking for accommodation in Milan for about a week and used Spotahome to send requests. It was quite difficult because many landlords only accept tenants for at least a semester, which makes it complicated for people like me who only need a place for 2–3 months. Another thing I noticed is the amount of communication: I received a lot of emails and WhatsApp messages from the platform. Honestly, it would be much easier if the updates were limited to the essentials — for example: "landlord accepted or rejected your request" and the details about payment. That would make the process much clearer and less overwhelming. That being said, in the end everything worked out and I was able to secure my accommodation. I really appreciate Spotahome for making it possible, and overall I'm satisfied with the result.

Partial blind reservation

It was ok, although I did not know which floor, or which street in Madrid. I am not even sure if the washing machine is inside the apartment or i have to share it with other apartments.
Then I receive an e mail with a link that took me to a different page, that I don't know if it is Legit, and asking for numbers. Even this one asks me for a Booking reference, and is not a page from Spotahome
