Lackluster plants; doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason for how they are maintained (I have received extremely root-bound and barely absorbing water, to looks like it was just plopped in the nursery pot the soil is so loose, oh great and it's soaking too); they often die.
Because the nursery environment is apparently wildy unpredictable, it's hard to provide the best care upon receipt. In my experience most plants stay in shock until they're dead. I have over 80 plants in the house and am an avid gardener, but I return to the sill sometimes despite lessons learned, to be totally honest.
Thanks of the Sill Team for fixing FedEx's breakdown. Turned around a failed delivery to ensure my order was still delivered in time for my special occasion.

My Norfolk Pine arrived just before Thanksgiving week, to much anticipation. It is beautiful, just as shown. I can already see how it will look as it matures. I know it will always remind observers of Christmas, but it will look beautiful, delicate and lush all year round. I'm so happy we go it before it was sold out. Yay!

I've purchased several plants from The Sill. All have arrived in excellent condition and are still thriving. The selection of plants is wonderful and deciding which plants to order is very difficult, because they are all so lovely and unique. I believe The Sill is the best place to buy plants online.

I bought two beautiful plants, one had bugs and when I realized it I reported and The Sill sent another one. I tried to save the plant (with a significant effort and time investment) and succeeded. After a few weeks I noticed bugs in the second original order plants, it was in bad shape and I tried to save it but failed. The Sill told me the 30 day guarantee was over so, good luck
My experience with The Sill has been nothing short of wonderful. I have attended several free webinars on plant care, taken advantage of their discount codes after attendance, and ordered several plants. Overall, the plants I received were healthy and beautiful. One of the specialty pots I ordered and received was broken; however, The Sill was extremely responsive to my request to replace the pot. My overall experience with The Sill is a 10 of 10!

I was having a problem with my new Calathea Medallion plant. The Sill got back to me very quickly. Gave me a few suggestions, and now I'm having a virtual plant appointment to help out with my issues. I've never had a plant company that offered this.
This is my first plant in decades. And, my first plant from this company. I actually ordered from two different companies at the same time. My plant came in perfect condition. At first I thought it was fake. It's so beautiful. I also chose a planter. WOW! This company has so many options. I pray they give even more. That said it came already nestled in my new planter which is the Isabella white sesame color. I've had my plant over two weeks and it is really thriving. The burgundy color under the leaves are very pretty. I'm now looking for a lot more plants to buy from The Sill.

My little Teddy Bear cactus arrived in good shape. However I know a little about growing cactus, and it is now potted in generic houseplant soil, not appropriate for cacti, which need more drainage. Also the Hyde planter accompanying it will be too large for it for years. This is similar to the orchid I received previously, also potted in the wrong soil, which subsequently died. Buyer beware.
The only reason I bought from The Sill for the Norfolk Pine was because I thought it was guaranteed that my plant would NOT be spray painted (which I know is common for sellers to do to Norfolk pines around Christmas time). I am disappointed to say the tree I received from The Sill is in fact spray painted. I was suspicious when I saw that it was a darker green than I would have expected but I thought I must be wrong since a chat with the team guaranteed that my plant would not be spray painted. I however have been continuously looking at it since I got it and decided to test the leaves with acetone on a paper towel. When I rubbed the leaves with the paper towel sure enough the paint came off onto the towel. I looked closer and noticed obvious paint on the leaves and trunk - see pictures. I also tested the acetone on a Norfolk pine I bought from another store (which is a norfolk pines natural lighter green color) and no green came off onto the towel. Since the tree is spray painted it is almost guaranteed to die since light wont be able to get to the leaves through the spray painted. Disappointing to spend so much money on a plant that wont last through the holidays.
The quality of the plants I have received from The Sill are very healthy and arrived well-packaged for their trip to my home. This is my 4th plant order from The Sill and I can't wait to welcome my new plant kids into my home. The Sill has a unique variety of always changing plant selections. The 2 plants I ordered today are plants I have never seen before, so I am anxious to watch them thrive and grow. I have learned so much about plant care from attending The Sill's online plant workshops. I am a much better plant parent now and have so much more confidence in caring for my large plant family! Plants really do make people happy!
Ordered two plants, both gorgeous! I ordered The Isabella planter in almond - and the color is yellow. I think the planter style is gorgeous but the color name is deceiving and it does not go with my house at all.

My previous experience with The Sill has been great. I have placed a couple orders and even when there was a minor hiccup with one order the issue was immediately resolved.
I recently ordered 2 plants, both arrived in awesome shape. The only hiccup was that one plant arrived without the planter I ordered. I reached out and an order was placed to have the missing planter shipped. I appreciate the quick response to my concern.

I am now a plant mom, and have collected several babies from stores in the internet. The sill came in with offers, and I tired one of them.it came in two steps separate and well packaged. The container itself is a beautiful white, and the plant they sent is first class. The leaves are healthy and the plant itself is gorgeous. Since the Sill offers that much care the plants are priced accordingly. I wish I had a bank to buy all the beautiful plants they do have. I will buy again when I can afford them. Extremely satisfied. Orchid was gorgeous and arrived in perfect condition. I was skeptical about shipping an orchid, but now I won't hesitate to do so again through The Sill.
I was so impressed with the service I received from the sill! After receiving a plant with a broken planter through delivery, they quickly sent a replacement confirmation in less than 12 hours of notice. All shipments were expertly packaged and protected, my plants are beautiful and happy! I do believe my issue with a broken planter was a stroke of bad luck or poor handling during shipping but the Sill really came through. Will definitely order again!

All plants are occasionally treated with a foliage spray that contains a small amount of green dye. This is what you are seeing come off on the towel, not paint. These is a normal treatment that is applied via overhead watering and does not effect the health or light penetration.
