Get screwed by petty rules. Worked as a caregiver both privately and with a few smaller lesser known agencies. I thought I found an agency that could work for and for a little while it did. BTW I'm a former employee not a person who needed a caregiver so skip over. If you have anything that comes up car issues, childcare problem (just giving examples)etc be prepared to possibly be thrown under the bus. No I'm will not post my location. Thought for once they had my back but now more interested in pleasing their Rich client base. I only stayed so long due to one client I really clicked with. Realize now I would have been better applying for a job at Burger King for the pay and wouldn't have run my car into the ground running all over the place. This is not why I got into elder care. Why they can't keep good help and have to bribe employee s to recruit I suppose?

AWFUL TO WORK FOR!
January 4, 2024

I used to work for visiting angels. The clients were wonderful, but the people on charge of our training were awful. They "trained" us by watching slide shows. They had me shadow a client once with someone who had only been with the company for 8 weeks. They do nothing if you report abuse and say their were no other reports, when the client was clearly distressed around their abuser. Basically it's a toxic environment. You give them your availability sheet and don't use it to schedule you. I wish this field was more caring. I assisted another client and their family members said I was the only one who interaced with them, and tried getting them to interact and play games with the family. It is quite sad and disappointing. I now pray I die at 60 so I won't have the same fate with the system that these people are put through.

Mario the coordinator at Naples Region.
Told me I can't reschedule my orientation because if reschedule my orientation that means I will do the same with the client.
- Low pay $15.00 hour
- Mario Onboard was very rude and unprofessional.
Skip this company and apply somewhere else.

As a caregiver
June 21, 2023

Mcdonalds pays 15 dollars an hour, you drive to work, one place, no miles on your vehicle, do the same thing everyday. Visiting Angels pays 14.50 an hour, 30 cent reimbursement per mile after 30 miles, you clean feces off of clients, some sitiations can be stressful. They say they offer daily pay but its complicated. Take better care of your workers

Basically a scam
July 21, 2023

I had a virtual interview with Visiting Angels and it was a complete bust. The interviewer said she had to leave the interview. She was gone for 8 minutes. Then she said she had to apologize, which was completely insincere. The interview was a complete bust. Also Visiting Angels wastes time and money by sending so many texts. It's just a scam and I pity their clients.

Wouldn't come
July 13, 2023

The woman I talked to sounded like she'd rather be talking to anyone else. I asked her when they could start if I hired them. She said it depended if anybody wanted to do it. She said she was going to reach out to the people and get back to me. She never got back.

Highly overated
July 22, 2020

Over $1600 for 4 days of their caregiver to sit in a chair on her phone 90% of the time she was there. The food she brought for herself to eat, stunk up the place. Fish I believe it was.
Total waste of money.

High turnover rate and working with clients, they cut hours, it's so not steady work. And working with clients with dementia so they can accuse you falsely of stealing items? So not freaking worth it. Dealing with judgmental clients and family who look down on you

Couldn't come on Monday but could make up on Sunday. I reemphasized that she shouldn't come at all. After a week in Skilled Nursing, it became clear that Mom would be staying there. Visiting Angles charged us for the week Mom was in Skilled Nursing and the next two weeks to finish the contract. The result--the charged Mom nearly $2000 dollars for 10 hours of questionable care.

Elderly Abuse
August 11, 2023

The people taking care of my mother in law and father in law did not do anything for days in terms of care. They did most of their work: bathing my mother in law, changing her sheets, helping her purchase food, etc. only days before they knew we were coming. We found her very senile and confused. She was on medications that were not prescribed to her and had bright red old lipstick on her mouth smelling of spoiled milk. We asked her if she knew the date and where she was and she thought it was ten years prior. She had no idea who was in the house. She was given Ambian and Melatonin together, so she was seen on camera sleeping most of the time. This was their care and it was outrageous to me! My father in law had visibly looked weak and his clothes were not changed for months. We took him to a podiatrist because his nails were over 5 cm long and he was having difficulty walking. He constantly was falling and looked emaciated. My husband, who is a doctor, and I took both of them to the hospital for a full medical evaluation while we were in town. We live over 200,000 miles away in another state. We tried getting guardianship, but was denied by the state. So bringing them to Texas from MA would be considered kidnapping. All we could do was help when we were in town. They both loved us. Now both have died due to negligence. We even found their personal property destroyed and most expensive items missing. How can items be removed from the home by seven Visiting Angels girls rotating in different shifts? The entire operation was absurd.
