My mother-in-law's reclining wheelchair is 7 months old. It is now stuck in a reclining position because the lever came off and can't be reattached. My mother-in-law is 91 years old and, until the wheelchair is repaired or replaced, she must spend her days in her bed where she can sit upright to eat, read and socialize. I called Avacare Medical about the 1-year warranty which provides for repair or replacement. Avacare agreed to send the part, but claims there is no one to do the repair, even though my in-laws live on Long Island, New York. I emailed Avacare to remind them that the warranty provides "repair or replace" and so far I haven't heard back. If I don't hear back by tomorrow, I will file complaints with the Attorney General Offices in NJ and NY.
It has been three weeks and i have been trying to get return information for a faulty product. Customer Service has ignored every email since I pointed out the faulty item. Very unprofessional they are unable to respond with return details. Go with a tried and true vendor and stay away from AvaCare Medical.
Terrible customer service. Placed an order on Monday with 1-2 day "express shipping". When I emailed asking for a status/tracking on Wednesday, they summarily canceled my order without me ever asking for it. Pathetic responses to emails.
Will NOT do business with them again!
I did not realize an order for my Mother had been delivered. Called customer service and was advised to look at picture of the package at the front door. Sure enough it had been delivered. Did a bit of searching and found the package. I am so thankful for the young woman who helped me. The decongestant is almost impossible to find. All in all this company gets an A+ from me and my Mom
I ordered an item and found a better one on another site a few hours later. I immediately emailed the customer service department and the response I got said because it was already processed I couldn't get a refund. So I got stuck with a non refundable item I didn't want. Thanks guys.

Purchased the rubber backed flannel sheets for my father in law they were so nice I ordered more so that I don't have to wash daily- they save me from washing all the bedding
I called to talk about sales tax, the guy who answered the phone asking my race and insulting me. Not sure if he is the owner of the company but warning me to not to call them again.
I have purchased a couple times from Avacare and both times have been very pleased with the speed in delivery as well as the product quality. I will definitely be ordering again.

Though the delivery service put package in poor location (package was gone). They reshipped the package w/o any fuss.
Will use their company for future purchases.
