Excellent. After numerous failed attempts to use login.gov for my SSA account, I tried ID.me and was done in 10 minutes. Login.gov gave me "try again later " 3 times, and " lost connection" twice over the course of 3 days.
I'm an old Vietnam Veteran... and this Old Dog managed to learn a new trick kind of thing. You want to login, but wait. The ignorant company you want to interact with uses ID.me! Congratulations, now login will always be slow, require a second device, and make you feel like you live in a prison. Yay! It's also discriminatory against disabled people by requiring a mobile device. But they don't care. I told them this over a year ago, and they are indifferent to the needs of people with physical disabilities.
2 years of hell and frustration. This has been going on for at least a year. I have come to the conclusion that with the education of whoever did this program, they failed the course, probably never given, called common sense, and also a course call ed how to deal with older veterans.

I can't speak to their data security policies as my trust in them is through association - because of the agencies that leverage their services. I do think the step should have less text and more visual aid for older people. It is pretty good today too, but I couldn't help thinking that it'd have driven some anxiety for my parents, especially considering that ID.me's services are used by government agencies.

Id.me's website and verification process were straight forward, easy to follow, and function well. I appreciated that they would accept my US passport as proof of identification. As someone who does not have a driver's license or state ID, I appreciated that Id.me accepts many other forms and documents for verification. The video call was easy and my Id.me agent, Angela, was very professional, courteous, and patient. I will definitely recommend to friends that they use Id.me over login.gov (which inexplicably will not accept a US passport as a form of identification for a US citizen.)

I had a few issues on the process but it was pretty straightforward. The agent was super and very patient. Her type of personality helps prevent a customer from getting flustered. I was shocked that I got through the process in a short time span. It's just a shame that all of us have to go through this again when this documentation was provided when I signed up (plus a lot of other documentation.). Hopefully, the SS Office will not lose anymore employees with all this ruckus with this new administration. They have done nothing but make everyone's life more difficult thanks to their incoherency of everything.
I really enjoyed the experience using this platform, and the agents are very friendly and efficient. I found it to be an excellent way to verify identity and feel secure. Being face-to-face with a representative helps me feel more confident.
