We had been putting off migrating to Shopify for the longest time out of fear our SEO and conversion rate would take a hit. We knew we needed to make the switch but couldn't feel comfortable with any of the Shopify apps that claim to do the migration for you and didn't want to pay for Shopify+ so that they would help us migrate.

Being involved with e-commerce for 26 years and using multiple e-commerce platforms over the years, We have found website developers to be flaky for lack of a better term. Many will promise you the world upfront to obtain your business but at some point fall flat or disappear altogether.

When looking for a new web developer that was familiar with the Shopify platform, we found Pelican Commerce. We were using Magento for the past 6 years and had to make a decision... upgrade to Magento 2.4 and deal with the expense and aggravation of upgrading or switch to a different E-Commerce platform altogether which means migrating customers, order history, products, payments, google search, additional apps such as text chat and things we hadn't even thought of as well as learning how to work with a new to us platform. Magento offers a ton of flexibility but is also very complex and not user friendly... you essentially need to have a web developer on retainer to get even the smallest features implemented and fixed as they rarely work perfectly on the first try.

We were always impressed with how the Shopify platform seemed easy to use from an end user perspective and after speaking to Daniel at Pelican Commerce during our initial phone meeting, We felt confident that Shopify was the platform we wanted to use. Daniel gave us an overview of the time needed and costs and exactly the services they provide. We felt the costs were reasonable and the time frame from start to finish was also quicker than we had initially figured.

To say we were impressed is an understatement. Daniel and his staff know Shopify inside out. They handled the special features our somewhat intricate websites needed including multiple e-commerce store fronts, adding the option of multiple product attributes, handling both physical shipped merchandise as well as virtual services that do not require shipping, handling multiple variations of the same products and services which Shopify does not innately offer as well as adding a custom payment form. An initial time estimate of 4 to 8 weeks for the completion of the first site ended up being just under 5 weeks to go live.

We always expect a few bugs before everything is working 100% and Daniel was accessible almost immediately upon email and phone contact including weekends. The few minor issues that we encountered with a 3rd party app were resolved quickly and we are 100% satisfied with the end result.

So, we needed assistance with migrating our hip hop jewelry site, www.blingcartel.com, from our outdated Yahoo Small Business platform to Shopify. For context, I own a brick and mortar retail store and also an ecommerce store. Having been a Volusion customer for over eight years I was reluctant to migrate my site to another platform. However, after researching Shopify I decided to make the move. Aside from the obvious concerns associated with migrating a lot of products and history, my biggest concern was maintaining my SEO as I rank very well for a host of popular products. I am happy to report all went VERY well and I noticed no downside of the move at all but plenty of upside. I definitely made the right move choosing Shopify and Pelican Commerce. We had hired Pelican Commerce to transition our large inventory site from Woo-Commerce to shopify. Daniel and his team were very responsive and helpful throughout the transition. The project was very quick and was seamless. The pricing was very reasonable given the level of service. Would highly recommend for any future migration projects.

Migrating a business website from one web platform to another can be a overwhelming, daunting, and expensive task. US Water Rescue used Pelican Commerce to help with transitioning from a Volusion platform to a Shopify platform. They were priced right, got the job done, and were very helpful and knowledgeable.

I hired Daniel and his team to migrate my existing e-commence site that was hosted on Big Cartel to Shopify. They migrated all the pages, the look and feel, the more than 250 product listings (including the photos, descriptions, price, variations, everything!) and got my new Shopify site set up to my liking. I of course had to provide photos and some direction of what I wanted, but they made suggestions and helped me navigate the new world of Shopify and all its options.
