I have had a sleep number for almost a year and a half. The mechanical base has been broken for a year and a half. They came out to fix it three different times and it kept breaking. The last time they came out they showed me how to bypass it with the remote so I could keep it working. Then that did not work and, when I called back they said the base only had a one year warranty, and I would have to pay to have it repaired. I decided to go ahead and buy the parts, but I did not call them back out because I did not feel I should have to pay for them to fix a bed That never worked. Do not buy this product. The warranty for the base is crap.
Bought the bed March. Motor out within a few weeks. Four svc calls still no working bed. Junk bed junk crap customer service poor quality they could care less. Rip you off big time. I will never buy from them again and will tell everyone i know. Writing bbb and anyone else that can help get me my money back they are stealing from me. I had two back surgeries and i have no bed to sleep on due to it being as hard as a rock. I hate what they did to me. I will seek outside help in getting this scam stopped. All i wanted was a bed and all i got was screwed out of money i worked hard for so the ceo and others could make millions and buy what they want. I bought in good faith they took cause they can. But i wont stop until i get all my hard earned money back. I stay in pain since i sold my bed for this junk.
3 back surgeries - need real sleep - spent $10K on the best they offered and it's like a Wal mart air mattress when you go camping. I wake up every morning in severe pain on the frame of the bed completely deflated. Followed their "protocol" for MONTHS BUYING pumps and lines replacing everything myself. Now they say I'm out of warranty and they want me to buy a new air mattress and also PAY their tech to replace it. Absolutely ridiculous. Went to office to speak face to face and they said they can't do anything. They only sell there. No help. They can't even call the warranty team from their office phone! Had to use my cell phone! Think about that disconnect! Insanity! DO NOT BUT ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! THEY COULD CARE LESS!

Very expensive bed built in 2021 had a pump fail in 2023. 2 years old. The company does not stand behind their products so they "prorate" your warranty. They want over $300 from me to replace the pump on my bed which is now deflated and 100% junk. Very poor customer service. Even the supervisor was unwilling to help solve this issue with their junk mattresses. Very poor quality and no warranty to back up their claims of caring about their customers. Put your money where your mouth is and give me a replacement pump after I wasted THOUSANDS of dollars on your crappy product.
The beds are designed to have multiple critical failures as soon as the 1year warranty expires. I have had my bed a little over 2 years and have had 3 things break that all rendered the bed unusable until I paid a lot more money to them to fix it. This is their business model, you've already spent too much to just get rid of it so they know you will have to keep coming back and paying more. It's a total scam.
We have had our bed for about 6 years. We loved it and my husband has severe back issues. But, then it stopped working: app said Sleep Number for both of us was a 5, and the bed was hard as concrete! The next day I talked to a human, who decided we needed a technician….soonest available appt is in 7 days! We paid several thousand dollars for a bed and we have to wait a week to have someone out to fix it?! Where do we sleep? I wonder if the NFL players have to wait a week? My guess is no. So, if you're over 50, work, have back issues, and no other bed in your home, pick your poison/ the couch or the floor! This just about cements the fact that we will NOT purchase another SN bed….and just when we were considering an upgrade! Horrible service after the sale. Unacceptable.
Don't waste your money!
I spent over 10K on a sleep number that has to be reset every night in order for it to work. They don't have their own technician everything is sub-contracted out and every time they come out they charge you. If you want a bed like this go to the box store it will be much cheaper then you won't care as much when it doesn't work.
We bought our sleep number I8 king size split in April of 2021, since then we've had to replace both air chambers, and the motor! We spent 6,000 Dollars for this TURD OF A BED!
Not to mention no " normal bedding" will fit this bed, my sheets slide off every single night! You have to spend over 300 for their bedding that actually fits the bed! Total RIP OFF! I'm just waiting for the motor to go out again, or for it to completely fall apart!
Bought our bed in May 2021. We bought the i8 with dual chambers adjustable bed. It has been such a nightmare. Every night we have to push our mattresses together because otherwise, we end up with this huge gap in between us. The gap is so big that our arms fall in between it, we've tried to stuff it with blankets. And even pool noodles! We've called customer support to no avail, the sheets never stay on they always come off, it's just been such an awful experience with no help from customer service except for really lame things to try that never work! And now to top it all off, we have a hole in our air chamber. We haven't even had this bed for two years and already were having trouble, we now have to pay $130 for a new air chamber because our warranty has now expired. Every single night I wrestle with this bed because it is lopsided, and the gap is unbelievable. Our little dog always gets stuck in the middle of the gap because it's so wide we keep pushing our mattresses back together again, and within just a matter of hours of sleeping, the gap is back and it looses air! This bed was over $5000! I would not buy this bed. It's so expensive and it's been nothing but a hassle for us!
Don't be fooled by their marketing and sales reps in store. This was by far the WORST customer experience I've ever had post-purchase.
Firstly, the mattress we received at home was not the same we tried in store. Period. My partner and I both agreed on this.
Secondly, when asking about returns, the rep mentioned their "super easy return policy" but failed to mention two critical aspects of this policy:
1) You CANNOT return it within 30 days. We made an international move and had stuff everywhere as we were settling in our new apartment, but no, we HAD to keep this thing in our apartment for 30 days despite having already replaced it with another mattress (yes it's that bad, essentially a glorified, overpriced air mattress).
2) It cost us $500 to have it removed. So you're essentially paying $3500+ for a bad mattress +$250 delivery fee and another $500 on top of it to have it removed.
I moved from Europe and in all my years in dealing with thousands of businesses, this is by FAR the worst I've ever come across.
Their customer service reps on the phone are beyond rude. No incentive to help customers out as once they've taken you money, nobody cares.
They know that even if you hate the mattress, they'll end up making $500-700 in delivery fees from you anyway.
STAY AWAY! I will promote this message on all other channels to keep as many people away as possible.

I bought a sleep number 6 bed for $7000 and what a nightmare, The bed use a APP that never works, you need to call tech support and if you can not get the problem solved, you will sleep with the problem until it fixed. Mattress that breaks? What a joke. The bed breaks!?!? A 11 month bed got mid foam sank, I got a valley in the middle of the bed, they couldn't get the app connected, solve it over the phone, I called few times to solve it and in the end I have to pay for it $265. My back problem never went away, the bed needs always something, never got a minute of rest since I bought it, Not recommended at all, If I could I would return it.
Answer: For sleep number mattresses...YOU pay for return shipping even though it doesn't cost $249 to ship it back they're going to make money off of it
